Abortion serves a medical need that is for all people with procreative power. The choice to have an abortion is nuanced and personal. Abortion upholds the sanctity of life.

During her time as a P2A fellow, Sarah had the idea to open a space where people could go to recover and receive support during or immediately after their abortion. This space would be neutral and supportive, but not a medical facility. Instead, individuals going through a medication abortion or self-managed abortion could find comfort and community during a difficult time. She dedicated her time in the program to researching what would go into creating this space.

In Her Own Words

The project aims to create a physical space to support individuals actively experiencing a medication abortion, as well as those in the recovery period immediately surrounding a surgical abortion. This space will serve to provide a safe and neutral space where people can experience their abortion without the stressors and responsibilities of their home life, judgement or unsafe conditions. This will NOT be a medical facility nor will it suggest to provide or attempt to provide medical support.
